Integration of TCP/IP Data Stack into Motorola iDEN (Nextel) Handsets
As a preferred vendor for Motorola, Inc., our team was tasked with the integration of Interniche's TCP/IP stack into one of Motorola's mobile platforms. The resulting implementation is still in use today and we continue to provide expertise and engineering support to the existing Team.
- Integrated/ported a TCP/IP data stack currently used in all iDEN handsets offered worldwide
- The data stack is responsible for all IP routing between the handset, the wireless network, and tethered IP devices (USB/Bluetooth/Serial)_
- The data stack encompassed NAT, IP, TCP, UDP, SLIP, & PPP services
- The stack supports multiple simultaneous PPP links so that handsets can support IP applications that reside both internally and on a tethered external device (i.e. PC)
Media Communications Library Integration
The tkLABS team was called on to support LightSurf Technologies, Inc. in the training and integration support for their Media Communications Library. This library provides unique Picture and Video sharing capabilities to mobile phones. Our team has provided training and
integration support to many OEM manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Nokia, Palm, Motorola, AudioVox, Hitachi, HTC and others.
SSL Library Integration
Our customer requested the tkLABS team to integrate SSL functionality into their existing Communications Library as requested by their customer, a large cellular carrier. Our team researched a number of potential SSL stacks and selected 2 for prototype implementation, with one of them being completed and added to the customer's offering.
